Bushwise is the leading field guide training provider in Hoedspruit, South Africa. It is the exclusive provider of the International Field Guide Association (IFGA) standard and its courses are aligned with CATHSSETA qualifications. Courses are either in-person at our campuses in the South African bush, or online via distance learning. Students can become qualified field guides with us, ready to enter the safari industry.

As marketing manager with Bushwise, youāll engage closely with a diverse and global team of marketing professionals on high-quality campaigns and projects to generate high-quality, sales-ready leads. Youāll also work closely with our Bushwise operations team to understand existing courses, initiatives and new program offerings and communicate these to our target audience.

š¦ Specific responsibilities
- Raising brand awareness and online presence through the leadership and ownership of projects across all channels including website, digital campaigns, brochures, social media, email, paid advertising, SEO, external outreach and more.
- Conceptualisation and creation of content for all channels, including engaging and collaborating with internal teams and external agencies, in line with brand identity.
- Generating new, high quality, sales-ready leads through digital and print campaigns, referral campaigns, ad-hoc promotions, social media, and more.
- Providing insight into the field guide/lodge industry in South Africa to ensure that campaigns and content speak to our key audience.
- Managing the Bushwise newsletter, including research, copy creation, design, audience management, and scheduling.
- Representing Bushwise at events including school days, career fairs, presentations, virtual and in-person open days, and more (may involve some travel).
- Providing insights and strategic direction to the social media team to create compelling content across platforms.
- Ongoing analysis of data and insights, trends and competition, to inform decision-making and optimise campaigns.
- Strategic leadership and objective setting, driving performance and providing ongoing feedback.
- Managing the Bushwise student social media and storytelling module.

What we're looking for
- 5-6 years experience in marketing and communications, ideally with agency and paid media experience.
- Bachelorās in marketing, communications or a related field.
- Knowledge of the safari industry and field guide training in South Africa.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor others.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns.
- Experience in all aspects of digital marketing, including paid and organic campaigns, SEO, social media, email marketing, lead generation, outreach, etc.
- Creativity and innovation, with the ability to develop fresh and relevant marketing campaigns and stay up to date with industry trends and competitors.
- Experience with project management and remote work tools including Trello, GoogleSuite, MailChimp, Figma, Frame.io.
- Experience with updating website content (ie, Wordpress or Wix).
- Confident speaking in front of groups and in presentations (virtual and in-person).
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask, organised and proactive.
