Job Title: VirtualEvents Campaign Manager

Location: South Africa

Job Summary: The Event Campaign Manager is a crucial role within our B2B marketing team, responsible for leading the development of our events strategy and ensuring events play a key role in our marketing and sales activities. This position will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to plan and execute impactful events that align with our business objectives and generate measurable results. The Event Campaign Manager will work across multiple divisions, ensuring seamless event execution while driving a positive impact on our overall marketing and sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the implementation of our events strategy (webinars, virtual and in-person events), working closely with key stakeholders across different business units. Ensure that events are strategically positioned to support our marketing and sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify event goals and create event concepts that enhance our marketing and sales activities. Leverage your expertise to offer valuable insights and guidance throughout the planning process.
  • Report into the Demand Gen group on the event campaign brief, campaign milestones and campaign performance
  • Oversee the logistics of event planning, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and event registration in conjunction with UK local team. Ensure all elements are executed flawlessly to deliver exceptional event experiences.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Ops to build campaign workflows in Pardot and Salesforce
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure sales teams are fully briefed on their roles in the run up to, during, and following an event
  • Measure the success of our events by defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). Report on metrics related to attendance, engagement, lead generation, revenue, and ROI to demonstrate the impact of events on our marketing and sales activities.
  • Manage the event budget effectively, maximizing its value while maintaining financial discipline. Seek opportunities for cost optimization and explore revenue generation avenues such as sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Establish best practice models for vendor co-sponsorship including preparation of sponsorship proposals, data sharing practices, lead tracking and reporting
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry partners and sponsors, leveraging their expertise and support to enhance our event offerings and increase overall event success.
  • Stay informed about the latest event technology and industry trends. Integrate new tools and innovative approaches into event planning to optimize marketing and sales activities, enhance attendee experiences, and achieve better results.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in event management, preferably within a B2B environment.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful events that have achieved measurable results and supported marketing and sales activities.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a team environment, coordinating efforts and aligning goals to ensure successful event execution.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with event technology and software to streamline event planning processes and enhance event experiences.
  • Desirable: Experience of using Pardot as a marketing automation platform
  • Experience with coordinating online events & conferences virtually

How the Role is Measured:

  • The Event Campaign Manager will be evaluated based on the impact and ROI generated from the events they plan and execute. The following key performance indicators (KPIs) will be used to measure the success of the role:
  • Event Attendance and Engagement: The Event Campaign Manager will be responsible for attracting and maintaining high-quality attendance at events. The number of attendees, as well as their level of engagement and interaction during the event, will be assessed.
  • Lead Generation and Conversion: Events play a vital role in generating leads and nurturing them through the sales funnel. Except where agreed otherwise The Events Manager will be evaluated based on the number of qualified leads generated from events and the conversion rate of those leads into customers or clients.
  • Revenue and ROI: The financial impact of events is a crucial metric to determine the success of the Events Manager. The ability to generate revenue directly from event-related activities, such as ticket sales, sponsorships, or partnerships, will be assessed. Additionally, the overall return on investment (ROI) of each event will be calculated, taking into account the costs incurred versus the revenue generated.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: The Events Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, sponsors, and attendees. Feedback surveys, testimonials, and post-event evaluations will be used to measure stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring that the events meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Event Execution and Efficiency: The efficiency and effectiveness of event planning and execution will be evaluated. This includes meeting project timelines, managing event budgets, vendor coordination, and overall event logistics.
