CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
Provide comprehensive, relevant and effective primary and occupational health programs to all employees of the
University, in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT), Compensation for Occupational
Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA), Health Professions Act, Medicine Control Regulation and any other relevant
legislation that needs to be adhered to.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
 Assist with annual medical surveillance programmes for the institution, Including Hearing
Conservation programmes
 Assist with Treatments of medical emergencies and injuries on duty according to national policies,
protocols, procedures and legislation.
 Assisting with medical waste management compliance for the Occupational health centre
 Assist with vital signs of employees on medical surveillance eg Testing the Blood pressure, blood
glucose level, Body Mass Index (weight/height ratio), cholesterol, vision testing and urine testing
 Administrative duties wrt preparation of documents for consultation

Requirements
 Matric /Grade 12
 Certificate in Audiometry
 Minimum 2 Years’ Experience In Occupational Health,
 Valid and unendorsed Drivers’ License

Professional Membership With
 Audiometry Register - South African Society Occupational Health Nurses (SASOHN) and/or
