The Digital Manager will lead the creation and execution of bold, dynamic digital strategies for the News Cafe brand. This role is about building energy, driving conversations, and keeping the lifestyle of brand front and centre, across all digital touchpoints.

The role will lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of all digital marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness, customer engagement, and digital sales. This role focuses on strategy, and digital campaign execution, with a strong understanding of digital tools and trends in the restaurant industry.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Digital Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement digital strategies that capture the essence of the brand.
  • Partner with brand and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and creativity.
  • Collaborate with agencies to deliver high-impact campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to push boundaries in nightlife, lifestyle, and cocktail culture.
  • Manage the rollout of campaigns across all digital platforms.

 

2. Paid Media & Partnerships

  • Work with and lead agencies to create, design and execute performance-driven paid media campaigns.
  • Align creative assets with the brand’s bold, energetic identity.
  • Define, monitor, and report on digital KPIs.
  • Draft campaign briefs and ensure standout creative delivery.
  • Identify and optimise conversion opportunities along the customer journey.
  • The ability to allocate and manage budgets.

 

3. Social Media Management

  • Drive and manage creative content across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and other key platforms.
  • Collaborate with influencers and creators to extend brand storytelling.

· Manage online brand partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration

  • Build content calendars that reflect News Cafe’s lifestyle and events.
  • Grow engagement and followers through innovative, trend-led campaigns.
  • Keep the community connected with authentic, real-time engagement.
  • Ability to roll out on brand but focus on store specific concepts and strategies.

 

4. Performance Measurement & Insights

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign performance.
  • Leverage insights to optimise targeting, content, and spend.
  • Track ROI and continuously refine tactics.
  • Stay on top of digital trends in restaurants, nightlife, lifestyle, cocktails, and entertainment.

 

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Creative thinker with strong strategic and execution skills.
  • Deep knowledge of social media paid campaigns, SEO/SEM, CRM, PPC, Google Suite, Meta my business and digital project management tools like Trello, Asana or similar.
  • Understanding of digital consumer behaviour through various occasions, nightlife & lifestyle spaces.
  • Understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, Design, Photography and Illustrator is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Digital Marketing or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in digital and/or social media marketing.
  • Proven experience running and reporting on digital campaigns.
  • Strong track record working with agencies to deliver impactful work.
  • Experience in hospitality, nightlife, or lifestyle brands is advantageous.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Teams
