ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Editor leads Tempesta Media's editing function and reports to the Senior Manager, Content and Social Media. This is a hands-on operating role. The Senior editor will be required to edit content using the AP Style Guide and tailor it according to each client's customized Voice Profile (content style guide).

 

The content will all be B2B focused and vary from the smallest content formats (e.g., social media) to the largest ones (e.g., guides and whitepapers). The senior editor will work within Tempesta Media’s Coreform™ platform, for which intensive training will be provided.

 

The Senior Editor will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Content and Social Media, along with other team members, including copywriters, designers, the SEO manager and others.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Editor will be responsible for the following:

  • Editing content using the AP Style Guide.
  • Deep editing of content against customized Voice Profiles for each client.
  • Creating and maintaining content style guides (Voice Profiles) tailored to individual clients.
  • Monitor client assignments, edit content as necessary, and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Participating in daily conference calls with the Service Delivery team.
  • Attending client calls when needed to discuss content needs, revisions, or guidelines.
  • Contributing to creating direct response copy and landing page content, ensuring it aligns with client goals and voice.
  • Managing writing team productivity, training, onboarding, etc.

 

As part of the interview process, you will be asked to take the following online exams:

  • AP editing skills examination.
  • MS Office.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

**IMPORTANT** = You must have current or previous experience editing content for the construction/trades industry (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC).

 

  • Degree in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of business editing experience (not academic).
  • Superior AP editing skills.
  • Being aware of the best practices of social media copywriting
  • Ability to create editorial calendars with outlines
  • Experience with direct response copywriting and landing page copy creation.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be thoroughly proficient with MS Office and internet savvy.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, optimistic self-starter who genuinely wants to build a successful company and expand his/her skills.
  • Must have an insatiable desire to learn and absorb new concepts, topics, and knowledge quickly and completely.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to solve problems with a positive attitude and high energy.
