Operator (Bonnievale – Western Cape)
 
The position is located and secluded at one of our customer’s (Bonnievale – Western Cape). To manage your time so as to complete all activities as highlighted in the operator’s checklist, you must ensure that there is clear and proper communication with Technician and the customer. To ensure full compliance with the SLA agreement with the customer ensuring that all activities are carried out safely to the highest quality standards. To be available to support the customer's production during your provided work shifts, public holidays, and peak times. Working hours are site-specific and will be determined by your manager.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Chemical stock control
  • Assist with On-site blending operation and verify active concentration.
  • Monitor chemical usage per department.
  • Repair and Maintain Diversey dispensing equipment.
  • Daily/weekly reporting to Lactalis and Diversey management on matters pertaining to Cleaning and Hygiene practices and issues.
  • Pro-active in identifying chemical, water and energy saving opportunities.
  • Effective problem solving
  • Accurate data gathering and report generation.
  • Analyse concentration of in-use chemical solutions.
  • Ordering, issuing and display of chemical safety signage in all areas.
  • Maintain Chemical storage areas in good condition ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met.
  • To support with cleaning product trials.
  • CIP Verifications
  • On-site training of Lactalis personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Timeous Ordering of stock and weekly/monthly chemical consumption calculations.
  • Necessary dilutions and concentration verification.
  • Weekly consumption reports.
  • Replace all broken Diversey dispensers and keep in
working order.
  • Timeous reports as required by Diversey and Lactalis Management.
  • Assist Customer in optimising utilities and chemical expenditure.
  • Showing competency under pressure.
  • Accurate figures and reports pertaining consumptions, CIP verifications, In-use concentrations, etc.
  • Titration of chemicals and reporting when out of spec.
  • Clear display of all signages pertaining SHE and GMP.
  • Ensure all chemicals are stored in correct manner.
  • Assist with any new products on site.
  • Optimise CIP cleaning procedures, with planned monthly CIP verification program.
  • Training of Lactalis employers regarding Health and Safety, Titrations, chemical usage with signed
attendance registers.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 and a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
