EXCAVATOR OPERATORS

Lomeza Opencast Operations (Pty) Ltd is looking for a passionate and goal-driven Excavator Operator, who will be based in Northern Cape Hotazel area. The qualified and suitable candidates applying for this position should meet the below minimum requirements.

Requirements:

· Grade 12 or equivalent.

· Code 10 Driver’s licence

· Valid Excavator competency certificate.

· Dover test with Symbol A.

· 3 years’ work-related experience.

· Medically Fit.

· Operational knowledge of opencast mining and earth moving equipment.

· Must understand the importance of working safely.

Responsibilities

· Must be able to complete pre-use inspection and risk assessment.

· Take full care of the excavator and ensure that it is clean.

· Conduct deep excavation and trenching activities.

· Reporting equipment defects.

· Cleaning of carry-back’s.

· Adhere to standard operating procedures.

· Safety, Health and Environment:

• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities
• Identify specific risks within area and adhere to discipline – specific plans/systems to avoid these risks.

• High School (matric) (Preferred)

• Excavator Competency Certificate (Required)
